Bye-Bye Peach Fuzz

For about 6 months now I have been noticing a little bit of growth on Colton's upper lip. It used to be noticeable only when the sun hit it at a certain angle. While at church on Sunday I happened to look at him and I kid you not the kid had a fuzz-stache. It was thick and very blond. Does this look like a kid who is old enough to have fuzz? I should say not. Okay, the pic is a couple of years old but still, come on.
I started teasing him and I told Jeff he was going to have to have a tutorial on using a razor soon. Much to my dismay, right after church the "boys" went upstairs and proceeded to shave the fuzz. I was quite sad. My boy is shaving. HE IS TO YOUNG. Well, he only shaved once but still. It will happen again. I am not quite ready. I mean, shaving underarms is a necessity and if Kinz wasn't in a leo 24/7 I wouldn't have showed her how.
I will report that no eyebrows were harmed in the shaving of the fuzz-stache.

Jaycie-ism

Kinzie: "Mom, what is a Pharmacist?"
Jaycie: Looking at Kinz like she was an idiot- "duh- its a person who works on a farm."

Where does she get this stuff- she seriously cracks me up.

Fake fingernails

The girls have been begging for fake fingernails for a while. I didn't think they would need them because they would be a pain in the butt. Well, yesterday Jeff took them to Wal-mart and bought them both a set of nails. Kinzie got some that super glue on, and Jaycie got press-ons.
While applying Jaycie's nails he told her if she left her nails under water for a long time they would fall off. So last night she didn't want to bath for fear of her nails falling off. She got in and held her hands out of the water while I gave her a bath. Later that night she had to go to the bathroom and she wanted me to come and wipe her bum. That was going to far. I bathed her, I was not about to wipe her partially grown up bum. So I told her "absolutely not." She then proceeded to whine, "but I can't wipe it, cuz then I will have to wash my hands, and my nails will get ruined." Come to find out, "someone" hadn't been to the bathroom since she had put her nails on for fear of ruining them.

Getting Big...

Tonight a friend in our ward called and asked Kinzie to babysit. She has three adorable little kids. 2 boys, which are 6 and 4, and a little girl who is 1. I was a little nervous about her doing it, not because she couldn't handle it, but because this was her first "job". And if she is babysitting, then I am getting old, and she is growing up way to fast. She was very excited. She babysat for three hours, and said the kids where very good and she had tons of fun. So thank you "Ponica" (teehee) for giving her a chance.

Out with the Old; In with the New...

Welcome 2009. This year has been an awesome one. We have had fun times, camping trips, boating fun, and vacations. We have had babies born, new puppies, and fun with friends. We have had numerous x-rays and only 1 broken bone. Gymnastic meets, piano recitals, and guitar concerts. We have had job promotions and job tragedies, and the death of our beloved prophet. We have had love, joy and friendship and many hours spent with family. Lets hope this new year will be as good, or even better than the last.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Fun in the Snow!!

Yesterday we went tubing with Natilie and her family. We went up to Reed's dad's house. He has alot of property and every year he gets out his tractor and grooms the grandkids an awesome sledding hill. Taylor and Colton both brought snowboards and we had a handful of sleds. Everyone had fun. I even took a turn on the snowboard. Fortunately for me there is no photo of my very talented self making my way down the hill. I crashed. More that once. Jaycie learned how to snowboard, but Kinzie was not going to do it. She figured if she broke something it may be a day or two before we took her to the doctor. I wonder why she thought that.
The day was nice and it got warm enough that coats were shed. Thank you Grandpa Mark for letting us invade your house, and thanks Nat for enjoying the day with us.

Colton tearing it up on the snowboard. He eventually went off some good size jumps.

Jeff even enjoyed taking a run down the hill on the snowboard.

Christmas Day

Christmas day in our household does not consist of sitting home playing with the loot Santa brought. We start our day at the butt crack of dawn with the kids jumping up and down wanting to see what santa brought. We open gifts which last about 10 minutes, and then is off to Grandpa Kerry's for breakfast. He was generous this year and gave the girls an arrow head necklace, Colton received a knife and all received cash. We visited there for a while and then it was off to Grandma Joan's for dinner. She too was also generous. Colton got a game for his x-box, Kinzie got a game for her Ds, and Jaycie got a Pixo's system( I don't know what it is really called.) After eating and visiting for a bit, we then headed up to Jeff's parents house.
My kids had opened presents from Grandma Joyce and Grandpa Jay earlier that morning. They bring the presents to our house before Christmas. Colton got another game for his x-box, and Kinzie and Jaycie both got games for their DS and one to share. My kids made out like bandits this Christmas. After Grandma and Grandpa's we came home (it is now about 8:00. It is time for kids to hit the sack. We are all exhausted. The day after Christmas is when the fun begins, my kids get to stay home for 2 blessed weeks doing nothing but playing with all the stuff they got for Christmas.
